Skincare tip—wear a sun hat to preserve the health of your skin and protect your skin from damaging UVA & UVB rays. When I'm outside (even running errands or going to the grocery store) I have a hat on! Baseball caps are cute and sporty, but there's nothing like a beautiful sun hat this time of year!
The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends a wide-brimmed hat of at least three inches in diameter to properly shade your face, neck and ears. Keep an eye out for hats with an Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) label which indicates how effective the hat shields against the sun! I'm always hunting for this label. Sadly, many brands don't have one! If your hat doesn't have a UPF label, consider the construction of the fabric—generally the tighter the fabric weave, the higher the sun protection!
Here are my favorites right now! (click the link and image, it's shoppable!)
The Floppy Brimmed Hat
I have tons on these on hand for whenever I'm outside. It's a great price point! If it gets wet in the pool or at the beach, it's not a big deal.
I'm really into visors this Summer. If I know I'm going to be at an outside lunch, I take this hat! This one is so comfortable with a tie in the back to help adjust the fit! I get so many compliments on this one!
The Straw Hat
I love this hat has an adjustable chin strap! So cute and functional!
The Gardening Hat
I love gardening hats with a scarf banded bow. You can usually find GREAT hats at your local gardening store! I found a really cute one at the nursery where I bought my basil plants and it was under $20! I can't find the exact one I've been wearing this Summer, but this one is very similar!
